The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. has launched its latest innovation that will help corporate clients secure their facilities and prevent theft at a fraction of the traditional costs.
Called PLDT Guardian, this innovative solution provides business owners the ability to effectively secure and protect assets from unauthorized access, internal pilferages, and manage other security risks like fire disaster.PLDT Senior Vice President and Customer Sales and Marketing Group Head Eric R. Alberto said PLDT Guardian is currently unparalleled in the country.“We are using world-class intrusion detection technologies here that have been effectively integrated with the PLDT Group’s communication technologies,” said Alberto.
He said humans are prone to error, while machines are infinitely less so. This, at least, is the underlying logic when businesses and networks run solutions on M2M or “Machine-to-Machine” environment, which means minimum human involvement or control is needed.
With PLDT Guardian, companies get a new security solution in a bundled stand-alone package that includes sensors, alarms and detectors in a low maintenance environment.
PLDT Guardian uses the RISCO Group’s WISDOM Wireless Security System, which is considered one of the most dependable wireless security systems in the world.
Wireless sensors can be easily installed in strategic areas such as doors, windows, among others, without having to worry about cumbersome wires that can be cut by thieves. The sensors are also equipped with long-life batteries that ensure continuous activity even when commercial power is cut off.
With wireless service and phone lines of the PLDT Group, there are enough redundant connectivity channels that ensure that the connection to the central monitoring station is always on.Alberto added that the 24x7 Central Monitoring Station is a major component of PLDT Guardian that sends notification alerts to the property owner, building administrator and other private or public agencies such as the local police or fire department when the sensors are triggered.PLDT First Vice President and Corporate Business Group Head Nerissa S. Ramos said that because this innovation is scalable and cost-effective, clients can determine the right package depending on their needs.“Clients can actually do away with heavy capital outlays for entire security systems and the burden of maintaining them. PLDT Guardian can also complement existing security systems in a cost-effective way,” said Ramos.
“Unlike the conventional security systems and traditional security solutions, PLDT Guardian offers a more secure and more affordable way to protect clients’ facilities and assets,” added Alberto.
