Teachers Hannah Angela Lejano (2nd from left) and Ronalyn Quijano (3rd from left) are the night's biggest prize winners as they went home with a brand new house and lot and van, respectively. Also in the photo are (from left): celebrity athlete Andrew Wolff; FOTON Philippines Executive Vice President Ana Parado; DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones; Gabay Guro Chairperson Chaye Cabal-Revilla; Edu Manzano; Pops Fernandez; PLDT and Smart Wireless Sales and Distribution Head Alex Caeg; PLDT-Smart Foundation President Esther Santos; and PLDT and Smart Consumer Marketing Head Andrew Santos.

“It really is a blessing in disguise,” said 28 year-old teacher from Malabon National High School Hanna Angela Lejano. Lejano, who went home as a brand new house and lot owner.

Lejano is a Science teacher who fell in love with his co-teacher. The two have been married for three years now and their love bore two beautiful children — a two-year old and a 10 months-old baby, both boys. For Lejano, winning the brand new house and lot felt like hitting a jackpot. “We are currently living with my mother-in-law. This brand new house and lot from PLDT Gabay Guro is like checking off one of the items in my bucketlist. With this, my family and I get to build a home,” Lejano said.

31 year-old Ronalyn Quinio was just as blessed. She won one of the grand raffle prizes, which was a Gratour Van from Foton.

A kindergarten teacher from Placido Escudero Memorial School in Sta. Elena, San Pablo City in Laguna, Quinio has been teaching for 11 years. But last night was her first time to attend the PLDT Gabay Guro Grand Gathering — an experience she said she will never forget. “I was about to leave when they announced that I was the winner of the Foton Gratour Van. I was telling myself, ‘This is ok. The performances were more than enough.’ Masaya na kami sa taas (Upper Box area). But this experience became doubly fun and unforgettable because of this win. Thank you, PLDT Gabay Guro,” said Quinio.

Lejano and Quinio were just two of the teachers among the 20,000 that attended PLDT Gabay Guro’s Grand Gathering 2018.
