Continuing its advocacy to give back to teachers nationwide, Gabay Guro, the flagship program of the PLDT-Smart Foundation, paid homage to over 5,000 teachers in Bataan through its trainings and #TeacherFest2018.

“Gabay Guro is really a way for us to thank our teachers who play such a significant role in shaping the lives of our youth today. We hope that through #TeacherFest, we are able to show our dear teachers just how much they are truly loved and appreciated,” said PLDT SVP and Gabay Guro Chairperson Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

More than 3,000 teachers from Bataan participated in various trainings through Gabay Guro’s Teachers’ Treasure Chest and Teaching in a Digital World Training. These trainings were made possible in partnership with the local government units (LGUs) in Bataan. Through the commitment of the LGUs and in coordination with the Department of Education, teachers were able to attend these trainings. In turn, all confirmed teacher attendees had reserved seats during the tribute show.

Led by PLDT and Smart HR Head for Learning and Development Deng Kibanoff, the Teachers’ Treasure Chest focused on timeless teaching and learning experience as well as practical tips to improve one’s teaching effectiveness and efficiency. On the other hand, Teaching in a Digital World Training talked about the ways to understand millennial learners and how to survive and adapt in a digital learning environment. The session on Digital Training was led by Smart AVP and Center Head for its Centers of Excellence Adrian Robles.
