Festivals have always been part of the Filipino culture – decade-long colorful traditions that locals and tourists alike, happily celebrate. Among the most popular festivals that PLDT has participated annually include Kadayawan in Davao City and Tuna in General Santos City.
Kadayawan 2017 is an annual thanksgiving celebration of the Davaoeños, their traditional way of expressing their gratitude for the gifts of nature. Of life and its bountiful blessings.
This year, the festival has been made extra special as PLDT, Smart and Talk N’ Text participated as platinum sponsors – a first in many years that PLDT has been a key partner during the entire celebration with the support from Community Relations.
PLDT, Smart and TNT provided free public WiFi in various festival events including the opening ceremonies, Kadayawan Village and Cultural Show, Kaondayawan Music & Arts Festival, Dula & Fluvial Parade, Hiyas ng Kadayawan 2017, and Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan & Floral Float Parade and Smart Night participated by MVP group of companies including PLDT, Smart, TV5 and Cignal.
As platinum sponsors, PLDT, Smart, and TNT also advertised the event via one LED billboard placements in Ponciano area where it was released at least 300 spots per day.
PLDT Home also provided some balloon blimps for its Fibr Plan customers while PLDT Enterprise installed access points in various activity areas with customized PLDT-Smart-TNT Kadayawan landing page created by Smart Wifi.

PLDT likewise participated in the 19th Tuna Festival spearheaded by the Local Government of General Santos City in partnership with the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority-General Santos Fish Port Complex.
With the theme, “Bida sa Saya, Bida sa Tuna,” the festival is widely celebrated by both locals and tourists to honor the abundant blessings from the sea by rejoicing through revelry and dazzling festivities.

In the heart of it all, it is General Santos City’s optimism and hope to gather and celebrate in the “PEACEtival of Fun”. With that, PLDT Home Fibr powered one of the country’s biggest festivals – Tuna Festival 2017.
There were 250 lamp posts banners from PLDT Home Fibr all over General Santos City, particularly in the festival parade route and the General Santos City proper.
This year, General Santos City reached a milestone as it is declared as the first fiber city in Mindanao. Powering through the entire celebration, PLDT also partners with TNT as both are named as one of the festival’s major sponsors.
