PLDT recently received the “Gawad Malasakit” Award from the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) for reaching over 1,800 blood donors since the partnership started in 2003.

The beneficiaries of the blood donations are indigent children patients with cancer.

“We are privileged to be one of PCMC’s partners in its blood donation program and honored to receive the Gawad Malasakit award,” said PLDT Community Relations Division Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera.

“Malasakit is one of PLDT’s corporate values, reminding us to be always concerned not only with our fellow employees but the rest of our countrymen as well. Our bloodletting program truly brings out the kindness and malasakit of employees who are very much willing to donate blood for those in need,” Diaz De Rivera added.

Hosted by its Pediatric Blood Center, PCMC’s annual event recognizes the outstanding individual donors and partner agencies.
