Iloilo's Dinagyang Festival has grown to be one of the Philippines’ most spectacular religious and cultural festivals. On its 50th year, Dinagyang Festival partners with the country's leading telco and digital services provider PLDT as it brings to the world Iloilo's most colorful celebration.
“It is truly a privilege to be a part of one of the country’s most awaited festivals. Not only is it a celebration of culture and tradition, but it is also a platform to recognize some of today’s best and brightest talents,” PLDT Community Relations (ComRel) Head Katherine Diaz De Rivera said.
With their utmost generosity, Rene J. Lescano, OIC for VisMin Home Sales & CSOZ Head for Panay, Cebu & Bohol, was part of the board of judges on behalf of PLDT ComRel Division. He conferred the Miss PLDT Award to 22-year old Dentistry student Patricia Mae Delos Reyes, who was hailed 2nd runner-up during the Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2018. Delos Reyes took home a free six-month PLDT Home Fibr subscription, a cash prize of P5,000.00; and a PLDT trolley bag.
“I am very grateful to be hailed as this year’s Miss PLDT. All the months-long preparation has come down to this and I couldn’t be more ecstatic,” Delos Reyes said.
“I am also very excited to try out my free PLDT Home Fibr subscription. I can’t wait to bond with my family by watching movies and series online with high-speed internet,” Delos Reyes added.

Performance during the “Kasadyahan Festival. Kasadyahan Festival is still part of Dinagyang and it’s celebrated a day before the Tribal Competition. Kasadyahan usually participated by different schools, municipalities where they show case their products and their source or way of living.
PLDT ComRel also sponsored a simple salusalo at the PLDT Iloilo office where they provided lunch and shirts to the employees as well as the participants of the parade where PLDT Home joined as well.

Making the festival more vibrant, PLDT Home set-up selling booths where festival goers can apply to exclusive Dinagyang bundle offers, which include Unli Home Fibr + Cignal HD TV + Smart LTE mobile plan with savings of up to P5,300 per year. They also supported the festivity by putting up lamp post and overpass banners around the city.
From the word “Dinagyang” also known as merrymaking, they had activities that would make the people embrace the celebration such as a Face Paint and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) area where they can make colorful and personalized accessories. Making it even more fun, the people had the chance to capture their joyful moments with the #CaptureDinagyang wall supported by PLDT Home Fibr.
