Ten outstanding photographers of PLDT LENS Camera Club (PLCC) were awarded recently for their valuable contributions in raising the bar of photography within and outside the PLDT community. They spearheaded the sharing and promoting of photography, fostering the growth of artistic and technical knowledge in photography and enriching the PLDT Lens Camera Club community through the creation and dissemination of our photographic creations.
The awardees received certificates, medals, and plaques given by PLDT SVP Butch Jimenez, PLDT Media Division Head Jay-Anne Encarnado, and PLCC Outgoing President Ronald Catalan.

They were chosen through the points gained for their various participation in the club’s monthly photo contests and activities such as photo walks, seminars, workshops and other club-sponsored events. At the end of the year, the club committee tallied the points garnered and came up with a final ranking of 1 to 10.
The Photographer of the Year award went to Ronald Catalan of Business Partnering Valuation. Catalan has been one of the pioneering members of PLDT LENS, and has likewise served as president of the club in 2010, 2011 and 2017. His photograph of a parachute jumper with the Philippine flag taken during the 2017 Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark Pampanga was ranked sixth in the Photo World Cup Photo Contest for the theme “reportage.” All these accolades have earned for him the title Photographer of the Year for 2017.
