With its continuous efforts to create stronger connections, PLDT recently introduced its fastest internet cable – the fiber optic – in Baler, Aurora with PLDT Community Relations, together with PLDT engineers, division heads, and executives, leading the groundbreaking event. By installing the fiber optic cable in the area, PLDT is enabling faster internet speed that is within the reach of the residents of Baler.

The event was also attended by the local government unit representatives of Baler as well as SME and large-scale entrepreneurs, who are expected to be the Company’s customers and partners.

PLDT ComRel Head Evelyn Del Rosario showed her support during the pivotal event in Baler. Del Rosario was present in the ribbon-cutting event and led the blessing of the area where the fiber optic cable was established.

PLDT Head of Customer Service Operations Zone in Nueva Ecija, Aurora, and Tarlac Gerardo Marquez, Jr. expressed his sincerest gratitude to Del Rosario for all the help and support she has given throughout the duration of the event. “Preparations of the event was tough. Though, with your PR skills, getting permits from the offices of the governor and the mayor was easy as picking apples,” Marquez said.

Exciting times ahead
These are exciting times for the people of Baler as they propel the city to greater heights with the newly installed fiber optic cable. Many consider it a thrilling experience – one that enhances connectivity within the area.

With the havoc caused by Typhoon Karen in 2016, the residents and government officials of Baler also proposed an underground installation of PLDT’s fiber optic cable. Marquez, along with the hardworking PLDT engineers, continue to study the proposal of the underground fiber optic cable installation.

With the emergence of the fiber optic cable in Baler, its people look forward to attract more investors and tourists in the area with an enhanced internet connection. The new installation aims for the exchange of business communication to become easier, faster, and more reliable.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Baler is only the beginning of bringing enhanced connectivity in the far-flung areas in the Philippines. There are better things in store for the Company’s subscribers as PLDT undertakes its digital pivot – creating a platform for better and stronger connections. CC:
